A candidate must be either:

A Citizen of India

A subject of Nepal

A subject of Bhutan

A Person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, The United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with intention to permanently settling in India.

Geophysicists Grade ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India M.Sc. (Geophysics) or M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Marine Geophysics) Or M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Tech.) (Applied Geophysics) from a recognized university.
Chemists Grade ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India M. Sc. in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry or Applied Chemistry from a recognized board with good academic records.
