A candidate must be either:

  • A Citizen of India
  • A subject of Nepal
  • A subject of Bhutan
  • A Person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, The United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with intention of permanently settling in India.

UPSC Geologist Eligibility Criteria:

Geologists & Junior Hydro Geologists Grade ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India Master’s degree in Geology or Geological Science or Applied Geology or Mineral Exploration or Geo-Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Oceanography and Geochemistry or Geological Technology or Petroleum Geosciences or Coastal Area Studies or Petroleum Exploration or Geophysical Technology from a recognized university
Geophysicists Grade ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India M.Sc. (Geophysics) or M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Marine Geophysics) Or M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Tech.) (Applied Geophysics) from a recognized university.
Chemists Grade ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India M. Sc. in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry or Applied Chemistry from a recognized board with good academic records.

Application Fee:

  • Candidates, who are appearing in Geologist Exam and UPSC Geo-Scientist Exam, need to deposit an amount of application fee of Rs. 200/-.
  • There is no fee for Sc, ST, PH and female.
  • Fee can be paid by the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/ State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala /State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/ Debit Card.

Selection Process:

Applicants will be selected on the basis of their performance in written test and Personal Interview / Personality Test, which will be conducted by the organization.
