NDA Eligibility Criteria
Candidate’s residence is an important factor for NDA, so the concerned authority has set some condition according to which the candidates belonging to the following are only eligible to apply for NDA Exam and they should attain centrally issued nationality certificate, so have a look:
A candidate must be citizen of India.
A Subject of Bhutan.
A Subject of Nepal.
Tibetan refugee who came in India before 01st January 1962 with the intention settled in India.
People who finally settled in India and are migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam.
Candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) shall be a person in whose favour certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Male candidates should not get marry in the training period if they do so, they are declared disqualified and are liable to pay the training expense done by the government on them till then.
For Army Wing of National Defence Academy: Applicants must be 12th Class passed of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy : Candidates must be 12th Class passed of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
Those applicants who are still pursuing their 11th class, they are not eligible to appear fo NDA examination, If they will fill the application form, their form will be rejected by the authority.
Age Limitation for NDA Examination:
- Age of the aspirants must lie between 2nd July 1998 to 1st July 2001, those candidates who are born before 2nd July, 1998 and after 1st July, 2001 are not eligible to apply for NDA (1) 2017 exam.
- Age of the aspirant must lie from 2nd January 1999 to 1st July 2002 they are not eligible to appear for this exam.

Are Tattoos banned to apply for NDA examination?
Those applicants who have Tattoos on the visible part of their bosy like elbow, wrist or side of palm/back (dorsal) side of hand they are not accepted by the authority and candidates will be declared unfit for the job. Tattoos are allowed only on inner face of forearm
Those candidates who are tribes and as per their custom and traditions they have tattoo on the face or body part, then it will be accepted.

|Presence of schmorl’s nodes at more than one level.|
|Atlanto-occipital and atlantoaxial anomalies.|
|Hemi vertebrae and/or incomplete block (fused) vertebrae in cervical, dorsal or lumbar spine and complete block (fused) vertebrae in cervical or dorsal spine.|

About Medical Examination:
Candidates who will successfully qualify the entrance exam will have to attend the personal inbterview which is taken by Services Selection Board, after that the selected contenders are required to qualify the medical examination which will be judged by Board of Service Medical Officers. So aspirants are therefore suggested to overcome the minor defects/ailments for final medical examination. So you need to pay focus on these minor things such as Wax (Ears), Deviated Nasal Septum, Hydrocele /Phimosis, Overweight/ Underweight, Under Sized Chest, Piles, Tonsillitis, Gynaecomastia and Varicocele.

Standards for Air-Force or Navy
Those who will have any of the condition described below while examining, will get disqualified and will not get entry in Army and Navy-
- Granulomatous disease of spine.
- Scoliosis more than 10º degree as measured by Cobb’s Method.
- More than mild Kyphosis/Lordosis.
- Herniated nucleus pulposes.
- Compression fracture of Vertebra.
- Sacralisation Disease.
- Cervical ribs with demonstrable neurological or Circulatory deficit.
- Presence of Schmorl’s node at more than one level.
- Atlanto-occipital and atlanto-axial anomalies.
- Incomplete Sacralisation Unilateral or Bilateral.
- Spinabifida other than SV 1 and LV 5.
- Any other abnormality, if so considered by specialist.
Radial keratotomy and Laser Surgery:
Applicants gone for Radial Keratotomy, in order to improve their visual acuity they will be permanently rejected for three services. However applicants, undergone for Laser Surgery they will eligible to get entry in Army, only when if they will be able to fulfill basic requirements as given below-
- Age of the candidates must be more than 20 years.
- Uncomplicated stable LASIK/Excimer (PRK) and laser procedure done for Myopia or Hypermetropia must be stable refraction for period of six months.
- One shall have a Healthy retina
- Vision of the candidates should be 6/6 in better eye and 6/9 in worst eye, with maximum residual refraction of +1.50 in any meridian for myopia or hypermetropia.
- Axial length within permissible limits.
Candidates will be examining for PRK/LASIK at SMB to measure the axial length by A-Scan biometer.
Other Physical Ailments:
Any physical ailments specified below If find in the NDA examination appliers candidates, are not eligible to as NDA Eligibility Criteria
- One should have any functional or organic disease in their heart and blood vessels.
- Blood pressure of one should be normal.
- Abdomen should be well developed, enlargement of liver or spleen will not be expectable.
- Any disease found in internal organ will lead to rejection of those candidates.
- Applicants have not any disease such as hydrocele, varicocele or piles.
- Un-operated Hernia is not accepted unfit so, it should be operated
- Applicants shall not have any Urine abnormality.
