UPSC IAS Eligibility Criteria
For Indian Administrative Service must be
a citizen of India. or
a subject of Nepal,
or Bhutan or
a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention to permanent settle down in India, or
a person who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to Indian with the intention of permanently settling are eligible to apply for services.
Candidate belonging to (b), (c), (d) and (e) categories, Government of India has been issued certificate of eligibility in their favour.

Qualification required for IAS Exam

UPSC Civil Services Age Limit
UPSC Civil Services Exam Age Limit:
As applicants have to be eligible in all terms so, make sure before applying for UPSC IAS exam notification you have attained the age of 21 years but does not exceed the age by 32 years.
Relaxation in Upper Age:

Applicants belonging to Gorkhas, Garhwalis, Assamese, Kumaonis, and Nagaland Tribal etc and scheduled Tribes candidates will get relaxation in height as for Men: 160cms & for Women 145cms.
Restrictions on applying for the Examination
- Those who were selected for Indian Administrative Service on the result and continue to be member same service cannot apply for IAS examination.
- Candidates who were appointed for IAS/IFS after Civil Services Prelims Examination and continue to be member of that service are not eligible for Civil Services (Main) Examination. No matter if he /she qualified Preliminary Examination.
- Those who will be appointed for IAS/IFS after mains and continues to be member of that service are not eligible for other service or post.
To grab civil services jobs applicants have to qualify the Indian Administrative Service or civil service examination which is conducted by the recruitment panel of the Union Public Service Commission.
